The search for market items worth buying works in this way:

Space Markets first checks all items in the station of your choosing, to calculate their historical median price and their current price. Then it presents the best picks to you sorted by the difference between their historical median price and their current price.

The idea being that items currently under their normal value have a tendency to revert to that value over time (Mean Reversion).

As the time to sell an item depends on the market liquidity and sell price, make sure you separate your investment by several items and diversify their type. Using the chart tool check the confidence level on that item historical capacity to return to its median price and that it is not in a downtrend phase.
